Turska's team will definitely be 5th or 6th place depending on how lucky they get >(

Fluffles (C) - Shadowforce, [D]Tobi, [BK]Czegi, Neon

Although Fluffles has a disadvantage with his bad connection, he has more than made up with it for his team selection. Shadowforce will most probably play Defence, and he can be the best in Europe on this position on his day with Tobi being backup. I'm guessing Fluffles will run with either czegi or Neon aswell. If this team is acitve, it will be a very strong opponent.

Gvozdevik (C) - [dp]Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati46

I dont know much about this team, but on paper it looks like a good underdog. Gvoz will probably defend, whilst any of the other 4 may run. Gvoz will need to be a good captain if this team is to do well imo.

[QnB]Ronald (C) - [DX]Chain, Konar6, SwiftShot, Glaurung

Ive already made my thoughts heard about this team, so i'd rather not start more Drama. Chain is a quality player, and will most probably run for us. I can play anywhere i guess (Glaurung too), prefrably defence, and either ronald or Konar could run. However i dont think we will get very far.

Jarin_cz (C) - Nosturi, Rosebird, Des_Arthes, [SIN]Torment

Another good team, have the skill to go far, but Jarin will have to make good decisions to ensure that. I'm guessing Jarin will defend, with Nosturi and Rose running. Des_arthes and Torment are good players to have in reserve.

Devisin (C) - Dopefish, Spirit_Crusader, Ragnarock, Onfire

One of the two strongest teams availible imo. They have 3 quality players in Devisin, Spirit and Dope, and having Spirit in the side will also let devi attack more. But it is also a team that relys on activity, and will need everyone to be active if they are going to forfill their potential.

[dp]TurSKA (C) - dewww, [BK]Bulb, _DaRk_, Marax

The best team imo. With Bulb in defence, and a Turska /dewww running, I wouldnt be supprised on them winning the Tournament. They also have 2 good reserves in Marax and _DaRk_, providing they're active.

Here's some of my thoughts of the teams in paper.

Fluffles, Shadowforce, Tobi, Czegi and Neon

Fluffles earned the first pick by his geographical prowess.. or perhaps just because of the ping disadvantage. Someone like fluffles who can run and mostly skip flags back home needs a really strong defence, and thats what he got by picking Shadowforce. So he did good there. As far as i know czegi is a great addition to this team but whether he is active or not remains to be seen. I definitely see this team winning some games because of sniper's strong defence and rambo flag runs. Tobi/Neon will have to play their A-game in mid supporting sniper and fluffles in their efforts.

Gvozdevik, Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati

Evolution was Gvozdevik's first pick and the start for the drama that ensued. I don't know about Gvozdevik's ctf skills but i assume he knows the basics and is the average joe in all positions. Evolution on the other hand is experienced ctf player and he also has the home server advantage. So if he indeed decides to play, he has another low pinger, megasonic by his side and that should work out great. Thomas is also somewhat experienced and can swing some ssg. I still see this team as one of the weakest teams atm. Gvozdevik will have to pull of some extreme captaining.

Ronald, Chaindude, Konar6, Swiftshot, Glugz

Ronald's first pick was the highpinging but skilled Chain, which would have made a lot more sense in IDL. I see ronald as an attacker/mid who needs a strong defence rather than a good runner. Chain is though an experienced player and i think his IDL experience will help the team's tactical side. Ronald also has konar6, swiftshot and glugz to choose from. Konar6 is a czech and you can never go wrong there. Those fuckers can play some ctf. Swiftshot on the other hand has again the low ping advantage and you're gonna feel that in your bones when you play against him. Swiftshot is a good shot. A lot of work needs to be done for this team to triumph me thinks.

Jarin, Nosturi, Rosebird, Desolator, Torment

Jarin picked a strong defence as his first pick, that being nosturi. I think that's a good pick but could have done better aswell. Nosturi is a turret kind of player who can shoot but lacks in the tactical aspect of the game. Rosebird is an experienced ctf'er in both IDL and euro tourneys. She's pretty good mid/o and can do serious damage in GV servers. Also the cutest one of the team ^_^. I don't know about Torment so to me he's a wildcard for the team but desolator is another czech and like i previously mentioned, dem czechs have dooming in their blood so one can never count them out. This team will definitely get wins under their belt.

Devisin, Dopefish, Spirit_crusader, Ragnarok, OnFire

Oh my god. Defence heavy team while dopefish and devi make pretty decent runners aswell. Spirit is another turret who is extremely effective in defence. One must wonder dopefish's activeness and how rusty he is exactly. If all of them are active i don't see ragnarok and onfire getting much game time. This team is definitely going for the win with this line up.

turSKA, dewww, bulb, _dark_, Marax

As for my team all i can say i'm pretty happy how the draft worked out on my part. I have a lot of choices whether to go defence/mid/o so dunno whats gonna happen.

So gl & hf everyone!

Fluffles (C) - Shadowforce, [D]Tobi, [BK]Czegi, Neon
I though this team can win actually with ShadowForce's aim and Czegi tactic
Gvozdevik (C) - [dp]Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati46
Mine one ) I hope Evolution will understand me with my pick
I hope we can win through we have experience players and low pingers
I'm new with that and I hope I can show what I can do in this
[QnB]Ronald (C) - [DX]Chain, Konar6, SwiftShot, Glaurung
Average Team I think . But actually Chaindude is pinger but It's isn't a problem for him , he can show skills with that ping . SwiftShot can do all positions perfectly .
Jarin_cz (C) - Nosturi, Rosebird, Des_Arthes, [SIN]Torment
I didn't see Solar_Flare before but this team is very nice through Nosturi's aiming and Jarin defending will be very helpful in game
Devisin (C) - Dopefish, Spirit_Crusader, Ragnarock, Onfire
Yep that wan is Perfect . Devisin defending skills will show game . Dopefish sneaking tactics will help as well . Ragnarok can average do attacking .
[dp]TurSKA (C) - dewww, [BK]Bulb, _DaRk_, Marax
Rushing one through turSKA and deww will be perfectly in mid/att . Bulb is very porewful in Defending. That is awesome combination

This was quick, I noticed there's gonna be a ctf league and two days later, bam, a draft. I like it. So...

Fluffles (C) - Shadowforce, [D]Tobi, [BK]Czegi, Neon
Skipping Fluffles made a good choice for a first round pick, because he needs some high quality grinding defence and that's exactly what Sniper is all about. I don't know much about Tobis skill in CTF, but I can imagine him playing solid mid. If Czegi would be active, I'd say this is a pretty strong team, with Fluffles (sorry, bro) and Neon sitting out, but I guess that's not the case.
This team will make it to the playoffs from 4th place, because Sniper will singlehandedly kill both JK and RR.

Gvozdevik (C) - [dp]Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati46
Obviously a terrible team, any of these players except for Nati could be an asset on any team, but put them together under a bad captain, and they'll do terrible. If Thomas is active nowadays, Gvozdevik should sit out and let those three guys grind like hell. If any "I'm not playing on this team!" kind of drama happened, I ofc missed it. And I'm sad and demand logs.
5th or 6th place finisher.

[QnB]Ronald (C) - [DX]Chain, Konar6, SwiftShot, Glaurung
I think Chain was a good choice, because he's a very smart player and ping isn't an issue for him. Maybe I'm just plain stupid, but did Ronald pick Konar when players like Rose, Spirit and Bulb were available? Well, I guess - and I'm not surprised either - Ronald went with his heart, picked some of his friends and he's just looking forward to have some fun here.
5th or 6th place finisher, but the happiest squad in league. Sunshines and flowers all over the place.

Jarin_cz (C) - Nosturi, Rosebird, Des_Arthes, [SIN]Torment
Now finally for a little more experienced captain. I like this line-up, afaik Nosturi is getting better and better these days and he definitely can shoot some ssg. But he would need some good captain to be effective on not-so-overplayed ctf maps. Rose was always great, I'm surprised she went that late in the draft, but I guess she's just not that active. Deso is a smart guy, not a supergeeked ctf talent, but it's fun playing with him and he has some brain.
If some huge change didn't happen and Jarin is still dumb, this team will choke on complex maps. If Rose is around, they'll earn 3rd place by getting some wins on grinding maps.

Devisin (C) - Dopefish, Spirit_Crusader, Ragnarock, Onfire
Hardcore team. On this line-up, Dope can run all day long without turning back, last time he did it, he was on a winning squad in ECDL. Spirit is very underrestimated player, but if he manages to close his damn ICQ before the game, him and Devi will shot the doors for any opponent runner.
Definitely top 2 and a finalist.

[dp]TurSKA (C) - dewww, [BK]Bulb, _DaRk_, Marax
I'm shocked turSKA managed to get his filthy hands on dew. I thought some of the weaker captain will pick him, because he's always bitching, raging and you know what? Good ideas comes up from it. TurSKA will probably be in a great shape, since he's playing in IDL now. Bulb will maybe have a hard task on D here, because I can see this team being an offensive machine.
Really the same as Devi's team.

Have fun ladies.

Nah, they were all taken taken at the time I was allowed to pick the second time. I was actually hoping to be able to pick dewww or Bulb in the second round, but turSKA took them both. Heh. And naaah, you're not plain stupid.

Also Gyrossman, JOIN OUR FUCKING TEAM!

I'm not even playing, haven't you notice? I didn't mean to offend you and you got 10 weeks to prove me wrong. Wink

Swiftshot or Devah: is there a schedule already? I mean who will play against who on what map.

Fluffles (C) - Shadowforce, [D]Tobi, [BK]Czegi, Neon
Lagman Fluffer will be doing maximum running, but I can see him earn all his credit however from picking a flag up in mid and returning it to base, making the whole other team sick to their nutsacks in rage of how their countless shots somehow didn't went through him! Meanwhile Tobi (I'm betting on for Player Of The Season award) will be supporting heavily, racking up important frags and doing mean RJ's where it hurts most. Czegi can be quite a demon attack-force if he isn't too rusty, and Shad will be doing his usual in defence. Let's see how they cope after losing a flag or two though..
3rd best team.

Gvozdevik (C) - [dp]Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati46
Me/mega might be able to make a few consolation flags through lack of concentration / disorientation of the other team to cancel out harsh scores.. Heck, it pains me to see a bunch of players in the pool to miss out on 2nd pick..
5th spot.

[QnB]Ronald (C) - [DX]Chain, Konar6, SwiftShot, Glaurung
Mawww! Well with []\[] as Ron's first choice it's clear to see where he plans to make his money from. Chainig is versatile, adaptable to map/position changes and has plentifulkey experience from le IDL. Konar/Swift are decent players and can provide that extra attacking option and sneak a few flags out on some teams but I definitely not others.
6th spot, heroes.

Jarin_cz (C) - Nosturi, Rosebird, Des_Arthes, [SIN]Torment
If Nosturi isn't feeling awesome after all the recent praise of his growth, he never will! I hope he gets his time to shine when linked with Rose and possibly strangle in attacking midfield. We might even see some nice returns on the other end from the czech duo Stacey and Des!
Banking on Rose avoiding most games, this team shall lie 4th, feeling robbed!

Devisin (C) - Dopefish, Spirit_Crusader, Ragnarock, Onfire
One heavily defensive team. I think we'll see here two become one as devi/spirit combine to make a Boretalogy whilst Dope solo flags with some crafty RJ's and sneaky runs. The defence is not purely solid as devi can be tricked often enough, and spirit trades concentration for his hentai wetdreams.. I'm sure we'll see devah grab a nice tally of runs in a few maps including zdctf08!
2nd.

[dp]TurSKA (C) - dewww, [BK]Bulb, _DaRk_, Marax
Sigh.. Exactly what turSKA wished for, i bet. Well he'll be comfortably relying on the consistency of these two czech squires as they work together to piss off defending opposition. codSKA himself can provide a powerhouse in either offence or defence so it's gonna be interesting watching link-ups in this team. Bulb is not the strongest SSG player but he has perfected sweet jumps in zdctf08, and can be the sneakiest of players when it comes to avoiding confrontation. Dark makes an excellent backup too, whilst Marax will likely forget about the league or not be around! x)
winners from a very lame and tyrannized draft.

We can all see the imbalance of teams here, but what the heck. At least this shit is working. A CTF league?! In Europe?! After vendetta #3?! I'll quit my whinging right now before it's too late and aim to at least have some fun against a couple of teams.

Kudos on the main job swift; the map choices, devi; the servers, konar; the stats-nerding and excel mastery, dewww. Oh, and for Gyross for this template- lord knows if I had to bother with bolding/underlining myself.

Gyross: Yeah Devisin is sorting one out, hopefully both the schedule and the wad (providing we see Chain) will be up by the end of the week.

Liking how this has gone and the fact that teams now have 5 players is A LOT better for the league as I feel it would not have been finished otherwise...

Devi vs turSKA in the final

I will be very very surprised if either of these teams do not make it, both of them have every chance in winning.

I'll have to give it to turSKA's team due to the fact they'll most likely use TS for some tough games, and this can make the world of difference. I doubt Devi will use TS, although it'd be very worthwhile to chat with Dope and Dope relaying to Spirit etc.

Game over before it's started unfortunately Smile

Congrats, PPP!

[drama off]

Fluffles (C) - Shadowforce, [D]Tobi, [BK]Czegi, Neon
This is gonna be a very strong flagrunning team thanks to Fluffles' kind internet provider sending him just 10% of packets to save on traffic.
czegi won't show up.

Jarin_cz (C) - Nosturi, Rosebird, Des_Arthes, [SIN]Torment
Jarage_cz is a holder of Guiness world record in going from the state of playing an online game to fully turning off the computer and slitting wrists with the time of 4.558 seconds.
I predict

19:23:52 Blue team scores
19:23:59 Jarin_cz disconnected
19:24:02 [NL]crapodecima has quit IRC ["Ragequitting"]

This is his secret tactics for enforcing a map reset. So watch out for this guy, he knows his stuff!
Rosebird is gonna be the czegi of this team.

Gvozdevik (C) - [dp]Evolution, Megasonic, Thomas, Nati46
The most exotic team. Chernobyl + Jerusalem? Let's see how much exotic tactics they can slap together.
This team will withdraw after week 2.
Thomas is gonna be the czegi of this team.

Devisin (C) - Dopefish, Spirit_Crusader, Ragnarock, Onfire
A defender's team. They will most likely go for 0:0'ing all maps.
Spirit Crusador has some defensive skill. From the enemy eyes, it looks like there is a Rambo standing on the flag and shooting rockets towards the enemy base, but if you knew Spirit enough, you would know what's actually going on. Spirit wouldn't hesitate with putting a weight on spacebar and drinking tea from his 1-liter glass, or minimizing the game and chit chatting with old Japanese women during a tourney match. His skill increases with the amount of tea drank.
Pedofish and Ragearok are gonna be the czegis of this team.

[dp]TurSKA (C) - dewww, [BK]Bulb, _DaRk_, Marax
demmm is a trained rocket jumper so he should bring some meat home on map08. His skill increases with the amount of wine drank.
turSKA won't do much here, he will be slow after the Christass eating spree.
Marax and Dark are gonna be...wait who are these guys again?

[QnB]Ronald (C) - [DX]Chain, Konar6, ThadeSwiftShotuss, Glaurung
Chaindudy on 310 ping guarantees this team some lagflags, according to the K6's law "when a player keeps running the whole 10 minutes there and back, there is a chance he will bring something back"
However, due to the time zone difference, czeindude is gonna be the Chegi of this team.
Konar 6 will shine in this tourney, he's been waiting for many months just for this tourney to finally show off his skills.
Unfortunately, his map suggestions (maps 06, 17 and 20 from zdctfmp, + the finals being played on shoot.wad with a CTF patch - bowl is too big) were discarded because these are intended for players of higher skill level. His idea for a tiebreaker (map06, 5on5, 10 flags, no timelimit) was also refused for unknown reasons.
In the rare case of the enemy stealing their flag and being dangerously close to scoring, Konar 6 will use his special defensive maneuver trick SC1, also known as "SevrerCarsh #1". His skill decreases with the amount of whisky drank.
All in all, no biggie, this team is the clear winner, unless Konar 6 breaks his arm.
